After an absence of over twenty years Hamble finally has its very own Butchers shop that will also serve neighbouring communities in Netley and Bursledon. September 2018 saw the much anticipated opening of Chambers of Hamble, a traditional butchers owned by Jake Chambers.

Jake is following in the footsteps of his Grandad, Fred Rolfe, who was the very popular Butcher in Netley for 33 years until the shop closed in August 2003. Sadly, Fred passed away in 2018 but was very supportive of his grandsons plans and visited the shop, on Coronation Parade, just before Jake did the refit.

Chambers of Hamble sells good quality free range produce, and is sourcing meat as local as possible, their beef is a prime example and originates from Totton and the New Forest.  Jake has also tracked down his grandad’s much loved sausage recipe and will be selling them in his shop alongside traditional, and some new, flavours.

He’s using traditional marinades but he’s also very aware of increasing food allergies and will be using many ‘pure’ marinades that are MSG free and contain no gluten, egg, fish, peanuts, sulphates, dairy or soy.
